My Story

My name is Denise Hubbs. I was married to my husband Steve until his passing in March of 2021. I am a proud mom to 3 amazing young men. Twins, Matthew and William are 24 years old and Jonathan is 18. Prior to Scentsy coming into my life I spent 11 years at hotels.com. I became a stay at home mom when Jonathan was born in 2005. I have been working as a Elementary Special Education Aide and running my Scentsy business for a last few years.
My Scentsy journey began in the fall of 2008 when I hosted my first Scentsy Party. I fell in love with the product but didn't think I wanted to sell Scentsy. I had already tried other homebased businesses with no success and knew my husband would disown me if I tried another business and it didn't go anywhere. So I just started buying Scentsy as gifts. Everyone in the family got a warmer and few bars for Christmas that year. A very close friend of mine, Karen Lenhard, became a consultant around the same time and kept telling me how easy it was to sell and kept asking me to sign up but I still didn't think I could do it and make money.
Early in the Spring of 09 Karen had a Plug In special that caught my attention, so I agreed to host a basket party and received a some free and half price items for hosting the party. Then in May I purchased a plug in and a bar for each of my kids teacher (6 in all) for teacher appreciation. Plus I purchased a warmer and 3 bars for a wedding. By the time May was over I had spent over $200 on Scentsy. Karen explained to me how much commission I would have earned on all the products I had just purchased had I been a consultant. I knew that I would continue to buy Scentsy for myself, family, and friends, so the little voice in my head said "why not sign up to sell it to support my addiction."
When I made my decision my intention was just to buy enough to stay active but here I am 10 years later and I am a Scentsy Family Super Star Consultant of Team Going Going Gone Wickless. Our team has over 18 awesome people building their own businesses. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be in the position I am in today. Scentsy has brought more to my life then just fragrance. Scentsy has introduced me to so many great people, helped make me more confident, and given me extra money each month. It has been an awesome ride that has not stopped yet and I hope it never does.
